Mould Inspection Methods
Mould inspection involves different inspection methods to identify or prevent mould growth.
Visual inspection: This type of inspection is visual and assesses the materials at the surface level for any visible growth or possible moisture. It doesn’t, however, detect moisture levels because it only assesses the surface.
Odour detection: The presence of earthy, musty smells can be a sign of visible or invisible mould in your house. Mould releases mycotoxins, which in turn produce earthy or musty odours in a room. This may also be caused by moisture and air movement from vents and windows being open nearby.
Moisture meter measurements: This type of inspection uses a professional moisture meter to detect any water or moisture that has water-damaged building materials.
Humidity measurements: help monitor the level of humidity and water vapor in a given room. These levels are then compared to outdoor levels for a more accurate comparison on how the building is behaving.

If the ATP levels are high enough, it confirms that something is happening – meaning mould or bacteria – and mould testing for laboratory analysis should be conducted.
